Climate Crisis Response Manual Worksop
08.03—08.05 2022
Culture Station 284 RTO
Seoul, Korea
Climate change is a situation facing all of humanity today that will have a profound impact on the way we live on this planet in the future. As such, we humans living on this planet feel anxious, hopeless, and helpless with only a limited number of options. As designers, we have the power to envision a new future where we can use our creativity, imagination, and collaboration to transform the climate crisis caused by human activity.
Over the course of three days, participants will pay attention to their everyday experiences and sensations to create a manual* for facing the reality of climate change. From real-life solutions to wacky or humorous hypothetical scenarios, we will explore ways of dealing with the climate crisis that are close to our daily lives. To do this, the workshop will follow three methodologies: diagram, action, and tool to experiment with ideas for design solutions that can transform the climate crisis.
*MANUAL: A manual is an instruction manual that describes how to operate a specific object with drawings or photographs, and has the property that it should produce the same result regardless of who performs it.
